BARRY EDELSTEIN (Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director) is a stage director, producer, author, and educator. His Globe directing credits include Hedda Gabler, The Winter’s Tale, Othello, The Twenty-Seventh Man, the world premiere of Rain, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Hamlet, the world premiere of The Wanderers, the American premiere of Life After, Romeo and Juliet, the world premiere of What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank, the two-part epic Henry 6, and, during the pandemic, Hamlet: On the Radio. He also directed All’s Well That Ends Well as the inaugural production of the Globe for All community tour, and he oversees the Globe’s Classical Directing Fellowship program. In addition to his recent Globe credits, he directed The Tempest with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2018 and The Wanderers Off Broadway with Roundabout Theatre Company in 2023. As Director of the Shakespeare Initiative at The Public Theater (2008–2012), Edelstein oversaw all of the company’s Shakespearean productions as well as its educational, community outreach, and artist-training programs. At The Public, he staged the world premiere of The Twenty-Seventh Man, Julius Caesar, The Merchant of Venice, Timon of Athens, and Steve Martin’s WASP and Other Plays. He was also Associate Producer of The Public’s Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice starring Al Pacino. From 1998 to 2003 he was Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company. His book Thinking Shakespeare is the standard text on American Shakespearean acting. He is also the author of Bardisms: Shakespeare for All Occasions. His podcast “Where There’s a Will: Finding Shakespeare” was produced by the Globe and Pushkin Industries. He is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.

Trish Santini (Audrey S. Geisel Managing Director) joined The Old Globe as the Managing Director in July 2026. Prior to relocating to San Diego from New York, she was a Co-Founder of the not-for-profit organization, Empire Training Center for the Arts, a vocational workforce development initiative created to train a new generation of technical and administrative performing arts professionals for jobs that do not require a college degree. From 2016 to 2023, Trish served as the inaugural Executive Director of Little Island in NYC, a $250 million public park with three performance spaces. She was a member of the design and construction team guiding decisions relating to operations and she created Little Island’s not-for-profit administrative organization which included developing the park management structure, selecting the inaugural artists-in-residence, and building workforce programs for young adults. Under Trish’s leadership in the first two years of welcoming the public, Little Island hosted over 1.8 million visitors and presented more than 400 performances with over 1,500 artists and more than 75,000 event attendees. Prior to Little Island, Trish held several arts executive roles including serving for nine years as the External Relations Director at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, a $125 million three-theater complex, with an education suite, two restaurants, and multiple public spaces. Trish previously served as the Vice President at TMG-The Marketing Group, a Broadway marketing and press firm, as the Marketing Director at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, and with Dodger Theatricals. Trish recently served on boards in New York and Minneapolis including as the Board of Directors Vice President for the City of Poughkeepsie’s downtown Business Improvement District and the Advisory Board for the Sands College of Performing Arts at Pace. She has also represented her organizations at numerous industry conferences as a panelist and keynote speaker, and she served as a National Endowment for the Arts grants panelist.
